I found two small crewel embroidered pillows some time ago.
At first, I wanted to make bags from them. But they ended up being upcycled into dresses. This is one of the dresses (still working on the second one).
I combined them with light-weight Italian wool and lined the skirt.
And a quick update on the recent finds:
1) Hand-painted plate by Vera; lady bug logo on the back. I think those are plums but not sure.
2). Several pieces of vintage fabric.

I've been readingthe VINTAGE FASHION book by Baxter Wright, where I find lots of inspiring ideas. Just take a look at this coat pieced together from wool felt scraps.
Or this unusual combination of floral and spriped patterns.
But my absolute favorite became this caftan.

Refinedjunction.etsy.com has got an update. I made a couple of these wool dresses to try out something new:
I happed to have a decent-size piece of wool fabric that went along very well with vintage kitchen-themed tea towels (in brown and green).
My sister who has been visiting us for a few days liked the brown one and I was happy to give it to her as a gift. The green version is available at the shop. I am working on making a few more dresses of this kind.
