A couple of days ago my treasure hunt yielded in this wonderful piece:
Embroidery was made with acrylic yarn on loosely weaved cotton. Acrylic is not my favorite but I must admit it makes washing much more carefree vs to wool yarn embroidery. My guess the motive is South American; and the colors of it tell me it was done in the 70s (this particular shade of pink was popular back then).
I pinned the piece to my "iron lady" and decided that making a skirt would be the most feasible. It looks wonderful this way!
The piece is being soaked right now and hopefully very soon will be put to "work".
