I have crossed out another item in my unfinished project list by finally finishing this dress:
I used vintage pattern circa 1954.Oh boy, sewing techniques needed to make clothing have got so much more "basic" in modern-day patterns! I've noticed decades ago side zipper opening was very widely used vs to back zipper that modern patterns call for. After all my complaints (I am good at that!) I should admit that it wasn't too bad.
The fabric used is reclaimed (but unused) cotton/poly sheets. It's US size 14 (SMALL). It's available in my newly opened shop www.refinedjunction.etsy.com .
I also wanted to share images from the Restoration Home book by Mark & Sally Bailey (http://www.amazon.com/Restoration-Home-Mark-Bailey/dp/1845974522/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237929780&sr=8-1). I saw it at an Anthropologie store, where it was sold under the Recycled Home title and ordered it from my local library. The book is just wonderfull; with amazing photography; plenty ideas of how to decorate stylishly using vintage and recycled materials.
