I love using vintage tablecloths in my sewing. First, many of them are amazingly pretty and hardly need any embelishing at all. Second, they are usually made of a heavier-weight cotton or, even better, linen. And after all, there is plenty of them out there at close-to-nothing prices.
I've made a lot from them: slippers, child dresses, women's dresses, bibs, blankets. Today I found this pastel top in my closet.
I've made it for myself a while ago but realized that I''ve never show it off untill now.
We've been cooking a storm lately. Here is one of my favorite recipes: grilled vegetables (eggplant, carrots and leeks) marinated for a few hours in a dressing (lemon juice, basil and chopped garlic). They are especially good after sitting in a fridge for a couple of days.
I also made plenty of turkey stock to keep in a freezer.
We love having soups for lunch and having homemade stock handy significantly speeds up the work.
