The day that we all hoped to be quite and lazy turned out to be chaotic mess (somewhat productive though).
It all started after breakfast, when my husband came back with a suprise from his morning walk : little furry dog. Probably run-away and lost in the community the doggy followed him all the way and eventually ran inside of our house. Although very cute and well behaved Chubby (that's how our little one named him) was a major distruction for the whole family. Our own dog Gordon (rotten spoiled with love and attention) didn't want to share even a tiny little piece of "his" house with a foxy looking newcomer.
The day was spent in trips to a local vet and knocking on neighbors doors under the pouring rain in attempts to find Chubby's parents. All that was accompanied by a non-stop loud bark of our spoiled mat Gordon who refused to understand the concept of sharing!
Chubby's parents were found sometime after 7PM. Needless to say it was such a relief!
Despite the chaos I still managed to find a new life for a huge picture frame I picked up from the side of the road (I know it sounds embarassing; I made sure no one noticed). This is what I did:
With the help of batting, vintage sheet and a board from Home Depot it turned into a new pinboard that I am already using for displaying inspirational pics.
We also tried a new Barlotto (healthy alternative to risotto since it's made from barley) recipe from a Mario Batali's cookbook I borrowed at the library (http://www.amazon.com/Babbo-Cookbook-Mario-Batali/dp/0609607758/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1220192079&sr=8-1)
Came out to be very good (here shown with a chicken cutlet).
